Spend the day in the holler here at the Homeplace and enjoy an old-fashioned Halloween filled
with autumnal activities, folktales, and friendly frights. Costumes encouraged!
- 10am – 12pm | Stories and Strange Spirits
- The 1850s were full of things that go bump in the night. Settlers brought folklore from their own homes, and met new haunts along the way! Come sit by the fire and enjoy some spooky stories filled with creatures and spirits both local, and abroad.
- 10am-3pm | Making Spooky Masks
- Halloween is just around the corner and that means spooky spirits are out and about. Did you know that folks used to make and wear their own masks so these spirits couldn’t recognize them? Come on out and join us in decorating a mask of your own!
- 2:20-3pm | Costume Contest
- Visit the Homeplace today in your spookiest attire, or wear your best historical garb. We will have a fun competition with categories for Historical, Creative, and Best Costume.
